Last year some of the Grade 2 students had an opportunity to participate in the Elf Reading Program. Elementary Literacy Friends (Elf) is a volunteer-based literacy program that helps Grade 2 students who would benefit from additional one-on-one literacy activities. The volunteer works with the student for 1 hour at the end of the school day, twice a week for 10 weeks. We had a fall and winter session last year at the school and just started our fall session for this school year on October 14th. The program has been a huge success, with students moving up several reading levels.
