This is the first in our series called “Feature-a-Teacher.”  Every few weeks we will interview a staff member at Jacquet River School and showcase that information on our school website.  This month we have chosen two teachers, Michelle and Danielle Arsenault.  They spend many after-school hours volunteering their time with the students of Jacquet River School.    Mme Michelle – How long have you been teaching and or coaching? I have been teaching and coaching since 2003, 10 years ago. Were you inspired by someone?  If so, who? My parents were a good inspiration for this teaching job and my former coaches, Denise Pottage and Brian Landry, along with my parents, inspired me to start coaching. What grades and subjects do you teach? I teach grades 3, 4, 6 ,7 and 8.  I have been teaching French from the beginning and most recently started teaching math. What sports do you coach? I coach volleyball and soccer at JRS and help out with the Lego Robotics Project with grades 3 and 5. What do you like best about teaching and/or coaching? The best thing about teaching and coaching is being with the students and having fun with them.   Mme Danielle— How long have you been teaching and/or coaching? This is my 8th year teaching. Were you inspired by someone?  If so, who? Like my sister, my parents inspired me to begin teaching. What grades and subjects do you teach? I teach is grade 5 and the only subjects I don’t teach are; Physical Education, Music and Art.   What sports do you coach? I coach volleyball and soccer alongside my sister, Michelle. What do you like best about teaching and/or coaching? My favorite part of being a teacher and coach is getting to spend time with the students. (Published by Annaka and Tanisha)
